Bypass or solo a stage and switch Source versus Chain at the same playhead. A louder result is not automatically a better result.
Render deliberately
Export a fresh WAV only when the graph is ready, or download a JSON receipt containing modules, settings, connections and their mixer values.
Why order and parallel routing change the result
In a serial route, every stage receives the output of the stage before it. A high-pass filter before compression can stop low rumble from driving the detector. Parallel branches can meet at any shared input or Output: lower the processed cable for New York-style compression, blend an effect return with dry signal, mute one route while troubleshooting or invert polarity to check cancellation. These are phase-aware decisions, not automatic phase correctionβthe patcher does not time-align arbitrary processors or repair frequency-dependent phase differences.
The Patch routing list names every connection as Source β Target and shows gain, muted and inverted-polarity states in text. Select a route with Enter or Space to open Cable gain, Mute cable, Polarity, Repatch destination and Disconnect cable controls; the SVG cable remains a second visual interaction, not the only way to operate the graph.

Use the DAW for multitrack arrangement, recording, MIDI and timeline editing. Chain Studio does not replace it.
Honest boundary: Chain Studio does not host third-party VST/AU plugins, automatically time-align routes, understand artistic intent or guarantee true-peak, LUFS or platform compliance. Specialist cards open complete AudioWrench tools rather than pretending every workflow is one native DSP node.

- A versioned directed-graph engine supports fan-out, fan-in and safe output summing, while every cable carries its own gain, mute and polarity settings through identical live and offline routes. Dry/wet blends use separate parallel branches and their cable levels.
