The analysis starts from audible attacks. It measures intervals in successive windows, folds likely subdivisions into the selected BPM range, then applies bounded smoothing. Sparse, legato or strongly syncopated material may need manual correction.

How is a tempo map different from a BPM result?
A BPM result is one global average. A tempo map places multiple BPM markers along time and bars so accelerando, drift, rubato and deliberate tempo changes remain visible.
How is this different from Groove Template Extractor?
Groove Template Extractor measures small early or late hit offsets inside a repeating pattern. Tempo Map Generator follows the larger beat rate across an entire performance and exports tempo events.
Will it detect every rubato performance perfectly?
No. Sparse attacks, syncopation, silence and strong subdivisions can confuse beat inference. Use the sensitivity, smoothing and editable markers to correct the result by ear.
What does the MIDI file contain?
It is a format-0 Standard MIDI File containing PPQ timing, multiple Set Tempo meta events at the edited bar positions and a valid End of Track event. It does not contain the source audio.
