What is an SFZ sampler instrument?
SFZ is a text-based mapping format that tells compatible samplers which audio file to play for a key and velocity range, with settings such as tuning, gain and loop mode.
How does automatic root-note mapping work?
A clear note token such as C3 or F#4 in the filename takes priority. Otherwise the tool uses a bounded autocorrelation pitch estimate; unpitched or ambiguous samples receive deterministic fallback roots that you can edit.
What is included in the instrument ZIP?
The ZIP contains one SFZ file, finite PCM WAV copies in a samples folder and a JSON manifest describing every mapped region.
Will the mapping work in every sampler?
The exported regions use common SFZ 1 opcodes, but individual sampler engines can differ. Test loops and advanced playback behavior in the destination sampler.
