How to build a soundboard online

  1. Add sounds: press Record a clip to capture from the mic, or drop in several audio files at once.
  2. Turn on Edit mode, then choose a pad to rename it, set trim start and end, and give it a keyboard key.
  3. Fire your sounds by tapping pads or hitting the assigned keys.
  4. Your board auto-saves in this browser; export it as a .json file to back it up or carry it to another device.

How it works: each file is decoded into browser memory. Trim points stay non-destructive, playback creates a fresh Web Audio source, and each pad is stored locally as 16-bit WAV data. The board supports exactly 19 keyboard slots: 1–9 and Q–P.

Limits: browser audio-format support and persistent-storage quotas vary by browser and device. Large clips can fill storage even below the 19-pad limit, so keep a .json backup. Microphone capture needs permission; sending browser audio into Discord or a stream requires your own system or virtual-audio routing.

How do I make my own soundboard for free?
Record clips with your microphone or drop in audio files. Each clip becomes one of up to 19 pads that you can rename, trim on a waveform and trigger with the mapped keys 1–9 and Q–P. No account or app install is required.
Does my soundboard save between visits?
Yes — the board auto-saves in your browser storage on the same device. For backups or moving to another machine, export the whole board as a .json file and import it on the other side. Very large boards may exceed browser storage, so exporting is the safe long-term option.
Can I trim clips so only the good part plays?
Yes. Select a pad, open the editor and drag the trim start and trim end sliders on the waveform until only the moment you want remains. The trim is non-destructive, so you can readjust it any time.
Can I use it as a soundboard for Discord or streams?
It plays through your speakers or default output, so the simplest setup is letting your mic pick up the sound, or routing browser audio into your stream with a virtual audio cable. The keyboard triggers make firing clips mid-conversation fast.
