How to create an audio waveform image

How it works: the browser decodes the audio, divides its timeline into columns and records the minimum and maximum sample value represented by each column. Connecting those extrema creates a peak envelope without sending the selected audio to AudioWrench.

What does the audio waveform generator show?
It shows a peak envelope: the highest and lowest decoded sample values within each horizontal slice of time. The shape is useful for seeing structure, transients, quiet passages and relative sample amplitude, but it is not a spectrogram, frequency analysis or LUFS loudness measurement.
Should I export my waveform as PNG or SVG?
Choose PNG for a ready-to-use pixel image in social posts, thumbnails and documents. Choose SVG when you want a scalable vector graphic that stays sharp at different sizes and can be styled or edited in compatible design software.
Is my audio uploaded when I generate a waveform?
The selected audio is decoded and rendered on your device and is not uploaded to AudioWrench. Normal page assets can still be requested as described in the privacy notice. The exported PNG or SVG is created in your browser.
Why might a file fail to open or look slightly different after decoding?
Format and codec support depends on your browser. The Web Audio decoder may also resample audio to the browser audio context sample rate, so the waveform represents the decoded signal rather than the original compressed file bytes. Very large or long files may be limited by available device memory.
