How does this vocal formant shifter work?
It analyzes overlapping short-time spectra, smooths each magnitude spectrum into an envelope, remaps that envelope up or down, and reapplies it to the original harmonic detail and phase. It does not resample or stretch the timeline.
Does formant shifting keep the original pitch?
The processor leaves spectral-bin and phase periodicity in place, so a clean monophonic vowel's fundamental should remain approximately stable. Strong shifts, consonants, noise, reverb and polyphonic audio can create artifacts or make pitch perception less clear.
How is this different from Pitch Shifter, Vocal Pitch Correction and Vocal Harmonizer?
