Nightcore maker answer: classic nightcore plays audio faster, so tempo and pitch increase together. The exact pitch lift is 12 ร log2(rate) semitones. Moving 120 BPM to 150 BPM uses a 1.25x rate and raises pitch by about 3.8631 semitones or 386.31 cents.
The result is shorter by the same rate. This creator writes exactly ceil(source frames รท rate) frames and reports that number, the output duration and the formula in its receipt. It uses a short 5 ms raised-cosine boundary fade only when a measured edge is above the click-risk threshold.
